My primary care physician said he knew I couldn’t do it

A declaration "I knew you couldn't do it." by itself doesn't seem very therapeutic. However if it was a part of telling you that you need community and recovery involvement, that's a different story.

What exactly did he say? Are you focusing on one sentence and ignoring a great deal else that was said?

If the only comment made by a physician after a relapse was "I knew you wouldn't make it." I'd fire him. I doubt that that was the only assessment offered. Relapse hurts. Do you think he is an allie? If you don't feel alliance that is another reason to find another provider.

Talk it over with some people. When calm and centered do what you know is right.
