My response to MAGA logic

Fine by me. Kinda sucks to be in what seems like the tiny slice of people who own firearms in America but also would be okay with extra steps to purchase them, just get lumped in with the 2A absolutists. Raise the legal age to 21. Require buyers to pass a course to not only prove they won't hurt themselves through ignorance, but to allow others to evaluate buyers to see who is and isn't fit to own one. But then who's qualified to make those evaluations/decisions for someone's constitutional rights? When I went and got my license to ride a motorcycle on the street I had to do hours of training and pass a test to prove I wasn't a danger to myself or anyone else. Some people failed and were told they'd need to learn more and try again. Perfectly reasonable. Walk into a gunshop, fill out the paperwork and do the background check, you walk out the door with no real questions asked. Of course I do my own due diligence in safety exercises, and keep everything secure in a safe, but I still recognize that things are a bit loose.
