My roommate is neglecting her cat, what should I do?

I'm just here to say that I'm sorry for you and the cat. I agree with what the others mentioned. I legit abhor people who treat animals like this as I've always been the sort of person who treats her fur babies as family... bc they ARE. It's shitty all the way around. I'm not normally one to advocate taking peoples pets but at the same time I care more about their well being that someone else being butthurt.

I once took a dog out of someone's yard. He was only ever chained up. At one point I didnt even notice them feeding/watering him... so I would. I called animal control and they didn't do anything about it. So I left a note on their door stating that if I showed up one more time and saw him with no food or water I was taking him.

And I sure did. Never regretted it for a moment. He had to completely acclimate to life as I don't think he had ever even been outside of the reach on his chain. And every day I had left with his lovably goofy ass, he made it beyond obvious how grateful he was for my family and I.

Moral: Shitty people don't deserve animals.
