My sister doesn’t like the six year age gap between me and my boyfriend. [WARNING- long post]

I met my husband when he was 22 and I was 16. I met him at a mutual friends party, and as a joke I told him I was 18. We went for a walk, he kissed me, and asked me to go to a movie. I fell for him instantly. After seeing each other a few times he confronted me about my age, because he saw the year I was born on Facebook. (Yea, I know I should have told him I was 18 earlier, but I was really falling for him). We stopped talking for a week, I was disappointed but understood. A week later we met up and talked. I apologized for lying, and we decided to started dating. I told him that I didn't want to sleep with him until I was older, and he understood. We waited, and we moved in together when I was 18.

We have been together for 7 years and happily married for 2. Nobody knows when they're going to fall in love, it just happens. The older you get, the less people notice age-gaps. Six years is nothing. I'm 23 and he's 29. No one has ever questioned our age difference. It's just that stupid "teen" at the end of your age.

Now, I would be concerned if this guy your seeing is known for dating very young girls (Drake vibes). But if he isn't, you go Glen Coco.

Just remember to still have fun in college, meet friends, and do regular things people your age do. I tried to grow-up to fast, that's my only regret.

Your sister doesn't seem like she has much life experience. I wouldn't worry about her opinion on this too much, not at least until she meets him a few times.

Sorry, rambling now. But go do you. If you break it off with this guy it should because your not compatible.
