My sweet baby girl born 2/10/17, 8lbs 14oz and 21" long. Birth story in comments.

I was induced 2/9/17 )39+6) because baby was sunny side up, measuring 8lbs 10oz, sitting super high, and me not even 1cm dilated.

I'll start by saying my birth plan was to deliver the baby safely and me come out healthy. I was ready for the unexpected, but I was not prepared at all for what I went through... a little traumatic.

I started out on Cervadil as soon as I was admitted to soften my cervix. 12 hours later (7am) I was given pitocin to get dilated. At 9:30am I was only 2cm dilated and my doctor came in to break my water. The pain was unbelievable, but what made it worse was my doctor accidentally pricked my on the inside of my vaginal wall. I lasted about an hour after my water broke and called for the epidural. It hurt going in, but shortly thereafter all was good.

At that time no one knew I started a fever so I had nurses coming in every hour checking my temp. Every hour it was rising. I had to be given oxygen mask and quite frankly I was okay with that. It oddly gave me comfort.

At 2pm I was 7cm dilated and it was looking like I was gonna have a natural delivery. I was checked again later still sitting at 7cm. At 6pm I was STILL 7cm dilated. At this point my placenta was failing, my baby was going into distress, and my temp rises to 101.6. T was time for an emergency c-section.

I get into the OR and I was so scared. They whisked me away so fast my husband had to yell at the nurses to give me a kiss before I got in there. I couldn't stop shaking in the OR and years were rolling down my face like Niagara Falls. Finally husband comes in and I felt some relief, but it was short lived after I screamed bloody murder on the operating table. My IV was blocked and all the meds the anesthesiologist injected in me felt like sharp knives in my arms. It quickly became a race between nurse and anesthesiologist to see who could get an IV in faster as my doctor was already started my incision.

Time went by everyone remained calm, but it was stressful. I couldn't even keep my eyes open at this point, but my husband kept talking to me. Finally I heard the absolute sweetest sound in the world. It was my baby girls cry. It was the most beautiful noise I've ever heard.

The rest of my recovery should be in another thread. I tried to keep it short, but the experience was anything but short. My labor was tough, painful, and an unbelievably wonderful mess of an experience. It's day 8 here at home with baby and she is 100% healthy and I'm in recovery, but doing fantastic.

I've never been in love with something as much as my little bean. To me she is so beautiful. She has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes for now... we'll see how long that'll last. :)
