My teenager's phone finally gave up after extensive beating from him. What should I do now?

As an English teacher who teaches juniors an seniors, I promise that device addiction is very real. It’s not as prevalent as some folks make it out to be, but there are some students who seem physically incapable of not being on their devices. When it’s taken away they get physically jittery, agitated, lash out, or disassociate. My brother is a recovering addict and the similarity between that behavior and the withdrawals I’ve seen him have leave me convinced that it truly is an addiction. If you’re able to find counseling resources in your area, I would recommend it. Like kicking any addiction, the first phase is the roughest, but it will get better.
