My therapist

I’ve read Kant’s ethical works before.

Legal =/= ethical

Eating animals involves killing them or paying someone to kill them on our behalf in almost all cases in our society. We dip chickens fully alive and conscious into electrified water in order to loosen their feathers prior to slaughter, and that is standard practice in the U.S. since the Humane Slaughter Act didn’t apply to chickens.

This isn’t a joke. No one would say be less strict on not hitting your kids, or be less strict on not physically assault your spouse. My not being abusive to farm animals isn’t my issue. That’s everyone else’s issue, I have others, as everyone does, but this isn’t it.
