My Thoughts on Competitive Overwatch and Burnout

I'm in a similar boat, or rather was...and by now am part of the problem myself.

I used to be a healer main covering the tank role every now and then. I'm lvl 500ish and 90% of my playtime was/ is on healer. I do enjoy playing healer but it never was my plan to play only healer. Given the fact that others kept refusing to switch and I constantly was switching to healer to get an -at least- half decent team comp going...I ended up a healer main.

I mainly was playing around 3000, sometimes dropping down 700 SR after unfortunate losing streaks, my career high is around 3300.

I absolutely love the game but my game experience got worse from season to season. Trolls, quitters, de-rankers, very bad team comps in A LOT of my matches...in all those matches I served the team a healer, while they just kept running around trying to solo the game. No ult coordination, no teamwork, no communication AT ALL....and this was massively frustrating.

Just like posted in the article, people are happy when they get a few kills, a card and maybe even the highlight and that's it.

I've quite the game in every season just because of this but I now have reached a point where I say "fuck it, I just play how I can enjoy the game and won't try to wear myself out on constantly doing what's best for the team, while a good portion of the people I get teamed up don't give a flying fuck.

...now, I most likely will start to get downvoted massively, but I have incredible fun playing Hanzo and Junkrat....and that's basically what I'm doing now. I enjoy my medals, my cards and my highlights...just like everybody else. I play to win but I won't grow grey hair over not winning anymore after constantly trying to organize a team that is not willing to act like a team in the first place.

Before anyone asks: no, I'm not trolling, I'm not toxic, but I'm sick of tired on "wasting" my gaming time on matches where I play heroes that are not my first choice, just so everyone else can play what they want and then losing anyways because people are unwilling to play as a team.
