My Thoughts on How to Get a Job After College in Your Field

Everyone’s experience with the post-grad job hunt is unique and widely circumstantial depending on their major and prior internships. As a finance major I was at a disadvantage by not having any internships in finance (only had administrative and sales internships), so I had to settle for a job that paid far below what I wanted with responsibilities far less prestigious than what I went to school for.

However, 3 years and 2 jobs later I’m now making six figures and have a much stronger network. A lot of my peers were a lot more prepared and landed great jobs in their field right after school, but I had to gradually work towards that. If you’re not able to land a job in your field directly out of school, that doesn’t mean you can’t land one years down the road.
