My thoughts on Jhin, The Virtuoso(Ability Breakdown)

Passive:WHISPER

Jhin’s gun - Whisper - chambers four shots, the last of which always crits and applies extra damage based on a portion of his target’s missing health. After firing all four shots, Jhin takes a moment to reload.

Jhin’s crits deal less damage than normal, and his attack speed doesn’t actually scale with attack speed. Instead, Jhin gains attack damage from any attack speed and crit chance he earns through itemization and runes, while crits give him a burst of movement based on his attack speed.

BEAUTY IN DEATH - Killing blows spawn a blooming flower on the corpse that reveals and slows enemies nearby before detonating for damage.

boldMy thoughts:bold This first and second part of this passive is the reason I think Jhin will be a late game hypercarry. Because every stat he will be buying converting to crit it is safe to say he will be doing TONS OF DAMAGE, especially on his 4th auto(DAT missing % health anyone?). RiotGypsy stated that lategame he will be able to reach 700 AD which sounds insane. The Beauty in Death passive is to stay true to his theme of an insane artist of death. His assasination targets literally turn into works of art before ccing nearby allies and exploding into papier-mâché.

Q:DANCING GRENADE

Jhin throws a cannister at a nearby targeted enemy. After landing, the cannister bounces up to four times on other nearby enemies. Killing an enemy with Dancing Grenade causes the following bounces to deal extra damage.

boldMy thoughts:bold His waveclear and poking ability. Good timing of last hitting with this near your lane opponent will help you win trades. It seems similar to Miss Fortune Q Double Up but depending on the cooldown, scaling, and mana cost will determine if it will be used mainly to waveclear or to harras as well. W:DEADLY FLOURISH Passive: Enemy champions that have been struck by Jhin’s basic attacks, Captive Audience, or any allied damage are marked for a few seconds.

Active: Jhin fires a massively long range shot that damages all enemy minions and the first enemy champion in a target direction. If the enemy champion he strikes has already been marked, they’re briefly rooted, while Jhin himself gains a burst of movement speed.

@WickedMosaic @HentaiWizard90 "yeah. W has 2500 range. Longest range damaging basic ability in the game."

boldMy thoughts:bold We AD xerath now boys. This will allow Jhin to fufill his sniper fantasy along with his ultimate and will show the skillcap of this champ because this is a superrrrr skinny skillshot. If you land this after your target has been marked you can snare them to set up ganks well in the mid lane or secure kills in the bot lane.

E:CAPTIVE AUDIENCE

Jhin places a trap on the ground that turns invisible after arming. Enemy champions that walk over the trap trigger it, revealing and marking them with Deadly Flourish and creating a large slowing zone. After a brief pause, the trap detonates, damaging all enemies inside its explosion.

boldMy thoughts:bold Satan 2.0. This sounds like a mix of caitlyn traps and teemo shrooms. I am curious to know the amount of traps that can be active at one time and the cooldown on them but these sound to be great for objective control. Also these traps are great for deterring ganks because after revealing your would be attacker all you have to do is hit them with your Deadly Flourish to stop them dead in their tracks.

R:CURTAIN CALL

Jhin fully assembles his weapon before taking aim in a target direction, revealing all marked targets in a huge area. He can then fire four rounds that stop at the first enemy champion struck, slowing them and dealing damage based on their missing health. Jhin’s fourth and final shot with Curtain Call deals massively increased damage and is guaranteed to crit.

@DartExplosion10 @moobeat @MMI_blog "Sometimes it is incredibly powerful. Sometimes it gets him killed."

boldMy thoughts:bold Xerath Ultimate mixed with Caitlyn ultimate. This is one of the abilities that will make people go "wow" or totally rage depending on what team you are on. 4 skill shot rounds with massive range that deal damage based on missing health. 4 executes?? Yeah this is going to destroy squishy champs late game but the drawback is it looks like a self snare that you can't get out of until you shoot all 4 rounds. Good players with tactical use will start late game fights by chunking out the mid laner or AD carry or pick off fleeing stragglers after the fight. Bad players will self snare themselves and get engaged upon and instantly die.

August Browning ‏@RiotGypsy 2h2 hours ago @JohnMoney2k "I designed him to be a marksman in the duo lane, but I have a feeling he's going to be a pretty good mid laner."

BoldEnding Notes:Bold In my opinion although it seems that he will do great in the bot lane with a support that he can chain his CC with, I feel like he will be a very competent mid laner as well. He seems to have great waveclear, CC and ranged executes that give him all the tools to take him mid lane. Although it is obvious he will struggle against high mobility mid laners such as Leblanc, Yasuo, Fizz, Zed and high mobility junglers like Leesin, Rengar or Nidalee with instant gapclosers; I think he will see more play in the mid lane than bot lane.

One of the biggest questions I have is regarding his ultimate and if terrain will block the shots because if not he will be great for roaming. He can easily walk to the tribush on either top or bot side and set up his ultimate for easy cleanups as long as he has proper vision control. Jhin seems that he will be great for teamfighting with his trap slows and snare on marked targets, as well as sieging with his long range poke.
Jhin seems like a mechanically intensive champion that you will be able to easily tell the different between a average Jhin and a great one because all the minor nuances of his kit and reliance on skillshots and proper positioning.

August Browning ‏@RiotGypsy 3h3 hours ago @Danatic89 @LoLZirene "he's got things that make up for having ammo. Like 700 AD late game. And a 2500 range basic ability."

Jhin also will have a reload ability similar to Graves but with 4 charges instead of 2. This makes me believe that his sustain damage will be lackluster and he will focus on burst damage which will fufill his "sniper role". It also appears he will have a massive amount of AD late game because his crit and attack speed gained convert to AD.

I'm pretty sure this means late game if a squishy gets hit by 2 shots of Curtain Call they can kiss their ass goodbye. We haven't had any Ranged AD casters that can instagib people lategame so I think this will be nice addition to the game and categorize Jhin as a hypercarry. Only time will tell once we see his AD ratios and scaling but I am excited to be able to pick up another high skill cap marksmen.
