I hate to say it but your wife obviously doesn't actually want to kill herself....that's not to say what she's doing isn't a cry for help and attention but more often then not people try to use "depression" as a scapegoat for their unhappiness but never try to remedy the situation they are in. The first thing you should ask your wife when she is in a lucid state of mind is why she is pretending to kill herself and calling 911 at the same time, does she feel trapped in your marriage? Does she feel hopeless in life because she is dependent on you and as no support network like her parents anymore? Please be careful with your son as-well because she may take her suicidal idealizations to the next level and try to "take your son with her" next time she decides to treat pills like candy. In any case I wish you luck with your marriage and family going forward but seriously consider the ramifications of living with a person with severe mental illness when your kids are involved.
