It's not necessarily a cut and dry 'what happens next'. If the police can't Identify your wife. It's going to be awfully hard. To do anything about it.
If they can identify your wife then I would probably anticipate at least a visit from some officers. I guess what happens after that is up to CPS, depending on all of the additional info (statements, video evidence, severity of woman's injuries etc.) What I mean is there are a lot of unknowns here.
