My workplace put parents as employees who have #1 priviledge for working from home... above people with chronic illnesses

I'm freaking out slightly myself... our country has just closed its borders, all stores are said to close at 3 pm (it's debatable whether we will, we're not exactly a STORE but we are in customer service), and news are coming out every 10-20 minutes of which service is going digital for the foreseeable future (waste collection, the cemetery, the bus company)... and who does my boss call? Not the company phone that records calls and can have us both hearing what he has to say, no- the personal cell of my coworker, to ask if she could get her kid taken care of.

She is an accountant, she's already working remotely vis a vis HQ in the capital! I'm the office head and the one who has to have contact with the clients, I'm FREAKING THE FUCK OUT from not knowing what to expect, we're sitting on the phone waiting for any news on whether we'll be able to open in the next few days (or do a huge chunk of our job, given that the fucking COURTS are down), and my coworker has her husband taking care of the kid- but surely the fact that daycares are closed is the most important thing right now, and surely only my coworker cares what happens....

I'm so anxious, I'm terrified of the mass hysteria, the government website has been down for the past hour, and there is nothing being told to us. Except that the person already working remotely could work remotely if pressed.

GEEZ, NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED THAT ONE
