my worst fear if/when i lose weight

A few years ago, I lost about 30 lbs in 3 months after a surgery, and some family members told me, "You actually have a shape now!" That taunts me now that I've gained the weight back and more.

However, I get more compliments now at a size 22 than I did as a size 14/16. I set boundaries with the people who made those backhanded comments, tried to build relationships with more supportive people, and worked on my relationship with myself. I am currently striving for body neutrality and am looking at aspects of weight loss like exercise and diet changes as ways to improve my mental health rather than focus exclusively on weight loss.

Weight loss will definitely bring changes to your life, but building a good relationship with yourself and having a few supportive people in your corner can help offset the changes that come with it.
