My Year In Gaming Screenshots

I had to downsample the ~8K shots to 4K or else Imgur would compress them, or the filesize would just be to big.
One Wolfenstein image is about 60mb big for example.

You can find all of the images uncompressed and in fullsize on my Flickr page however.

Now, why would anyone take screenshots in such a high resolution? Aliasing. No one likes aliasing.
And even 4K shots downsampled to 1080p are still slightly aliased. There are also other upsides of way too high resolutions.
LOD distance is higher and some resolution based shaders appear softer. This of course varies from engine to engine.

That said, 8K is probably overkill for 4K still. But why not spend the extra performance when you can. As long as it doesn't crash, it works! Just..

I'm not playing in 8K though. I use something DeadEndThrills called 'Hotsampling'.
Which basically means changing the resolution of a game while it's running without going into the options or restart the game. I usually use SRWE for this.

To get rid of HUDS, Weapons in front of the camera, changing the camera all together and what not.. i use Cheat Engine. Or just the games tools if there are any.

Sadly i didn't get around playing all the cool games. Stuff like Batman or Witcher.. i would've loved to get some more shots out of those titles. But those games still exist in 2016. I hope..

Now that you checked out my shots, please check out these other blokes here.
