I'm not trying to justify Captain Marvel being a mary sue, but she did have a Kree chip on her neck keeping her from using her powers to her full potential. Plus her powers came from an engine that was powered by an infinity stone which is basicaly one of the most poweful objects in the universe. Either way though, I do agree tha she became too powerful too quickly. Hopefully in Captain Marvel 2, they'll still make her powerful but not stupidly broken. Probably put her up against someone who would give her a run for her money like Michael Korvac who's rumored to be appearing in Captain Marvel 2. Maybe an ass kicking from him could lead to some good power progression.
