Naive ass parents.

I can tell you this, I've had to intervene in numerous cases of gift card related fraud working for Canada Post. The people doing the convincing are very convincing, very forceful and rely on scare tactics and a clock that's always winding down generally leading to "criminal charges". This limits a targeted person's chance to even think critically about what they're actually doing, just rush them through the steps so they don't go to jail for "tax evasion", or help track down that fraudulent fugitive of justice, or pay for that relative in Beijing that shoplifter. Numerous entry points for this type of fraud. In saying that, I've had elderly people who won't even accept reality after seeing my paperwork from the CRA stating they only accept cash, check, etc. and any other form of payment is fraudulent in nature.
