You went to the women's march when you could have done something more productive

It was Saturday.

The amount of blood and sweat I have put into my jobs to help me with financing myself while still being able to enjoy my hobbies is from hard work, not privilege.

Actually, if you'll go ahead and re-read my comment, I didn't bring white privilege into this. It was my father who called me privileged, and he's right. I absolutely am. When I was growing up I was given every possible advantage because my parents were determined to see me succeed, and I thank them for that every chance I get. But not everybody was given the same advantages I was. I was given substantially more opportunities than most, because I was born into an advantageous situation. That is the very definition of privilege. I work hard, but I'm a white dude born to well-off parents. That's basically living life on easy mode.

I'm not squandering my privilege, either. I work about 50 hours a week on average and pull in a better annual income than most of the people I graduated with.

You read my comment and constructed a character that I am not. I'm not squandering my twenties working part-time in a coffee shop and bitching about being poor when I'm not even trying.

You mentioned being able to enjoy your hobbies; I do to. I'm a hard-working young professional who occasionally likes to spend his free time speaking out for people that don't have the same advantages I do. I joined the women's march because I'd like my nieces to grow up in a world where somebody doesn't ask them what they were wearing if a man tries to rape them. I resent the fact that Trump can treat women in general with such grotesque disrespect and still garner the support of almost half the country. That's why I "wasted" a Saturday marching while hard working folk like yourselves masturbated to a fat orange lunatic.

So thank you for the cliche "pull yerself up bah yer bewtstraps" pep talk, lecture, now kindly go fuck yourself.
