Nathanias on LotV client/multiplayer suggestions/ideas (No balance/design complaints)

Blizzard does not have exactly the best track record of putting the money it makes back into its products. They're a very short-term orientated company. They especially don't do things out of the goodness of their heart unless it will make them money. Most of the time changes are made so they can downsize. Things like the battle.net authenticator was to get rid of half their CS.

So the odds of them adding a special multiplayer only client to SC that will require separate maintenance from the normal client isn't going to happen.

Changing the leveling system to reduce the amount of smurfing and hacking? Well, Blizzard is a large corporation so that's going to cost hundreds of thousands of dollars in meetings, white paper discussions, programming time, etc...and will net them...no more dollars in the short run. So that's not going to happen.

They might change the marketing on the 'starter' edition but honestly they are a few months removed from dropping all support for the game at this point.

Blizzard just flat out does not care. It's not malicious either, it's just how their business has worked, how it has always worked. They release the product then move on with a skeleton crew remaining to shore things up. Everybody has been moved to OverWatch now that Heroes released and after OverWatch is released they'll all move onto something else.

They are not going to reorganize their entire culture at this point. It's simply not going to happen so long as you have Morhaime in charge. Pardo stepping down was a huge step but all that guy did was tour Europe trolling for pussy. You have a handful of guys like Afrasiabi with stupid amounts of work ethic but they are typically put on new projects with the rejects keeping the old stuff running on life support.
