Ok so long story short, being a scout in nam was not "the shit" but the shiiiit(bad), if you know what I'm saying.

These dudes(native american scouts) were allowed to keep mohawks too, kinda like how submariners can keep beards, and they would wake up before everyone else and go ahead into the field to check for booby traps cuz you could see the dew on the trip wires.
