She wasn’t even some sort of epitome of that, in a way she was the Kim K of those days. I just guess it was less extreme: nude photos not porn, and her body was a more moderate level of curve compared to Kim K plastic surgery. For us today she is maybe seen as sweet and elegant. But… She was seen as unclassy, but very vulnereable and that was her appeal. Her life was very tragic as well. Tough upbringing, failed marriages, hard time finding a job, so she put on the persona Marilyn. She hated the full dresses, she had a large library privately etc and dressed more simply. A lot of mental health issues, struggling with infertility and likely suicide. Idealising her is weird, and I’m not sure if she had wanted that.
