Navigating in Autonomous

As mentor I forsaw this discussion coming... as well as some uncomfortable situations between teams.

In many cases, there will be concerns about collisions, and a team's "poor" or relatively limited auto ability getting in the way of their partner and/or causing them to lose points. There has always been room for this in past years, but this year cooperation and coordination is particularly critical.

There is no doubt that there will be many cases where, when teams compare their plans AND their abilities, the most logical choice is for a robot to just park. And, if so, parking under the bridge is the best choice. Heck, this year getting 5 points in auto is pretty good.

BUT - please remember gracious professionalism. Please be courteous and considerate when discussing this. It will be very tempting for some teams to tell their partner, "Why don't you just park." Keep in mind said other team may have worked very hard to develop what they have, and *should* have pride in their work. They may be be embarrassed and less thrilled about just abandoning that. The better solution is to work and find a way to maximize what you can do together. But if all else fails.... yeah, park under the bridge...
