Navy SEALs discuss effective combatives and martial arts.

I only know it as an example of McDojo culture and something I want to keep far away from the similar sounding San Shou's reputation.

Yours might be different, but San Soo has truly some of the worst examples of many techniques I've ever seen.

For example this double leg defense

Whatever the fuck type of flying crescent kick being called self defense here

Literal Ameridote

Fat guys catching punches at full extension

The same "war not sport" concepts that Jocko debunked in this video

Terrible Taste in music presentation

This sequence which seems literally copied from the "what not to do" segment of Matt Thornton's Aliveness tape

Literal professional wrestling stuff with further poor musical presentation

San Soo is one of the rare arts wherein I have literally never seen anything that I would consider worthwhile. The sad thing is that some of its concepts are so close to being things that are real, but they're pursued in so comically incompetent a fashion.

Add in the addition of belts and the Karate aesthetic, this is the MA I would use as an example of what to avoid.
