NBC coverage review

NBC coverage is indefensibly bad. I could reiterate most of what has been said so far.

There's a serious lack of dynamics. They shout every line of dialogue as if it's the final lap of the race. When something exciting actually happens on track, there's nothing they can say to accentuate the moment because they were already cranked up to 11. You need dynamics. That is commentary 101. Rick Allen is the tv guy and he should know this.

It doesn't help that the commentators say the same old shit every week. You can't continue to explain the rules and the points implications every single race, and multiple times per race. This is not new information. The fans do not need to hear this.

The highlight of the season for NBC was when Ken Squire and Ned Jarrett were in the booth at Darlington. That was such a refreshing change of pace because they went off the script and didn't push the same tired narratives. It was A+ commentary when those guys stopped calling the race for like ten minutes and told a story. A new story! Imagine that! The current NBC crew only know one or two stories and they get retold every week.
