NC DES wait times

Jesus, 4+ hours on hold? I'm so sorry. My advice to everyone that's trying to call to fix a problem/error that's in your favor is to just email them instead, that's what I did. I'm one of the lucky ones who has gotten my UI every week for the last month, and on my first weekly certification I failed to claim about $250 in PTO because I didn't know what I was doing, so I technically owe DES $250. I emailed them about this, and it's been like four weeks and they haven't emailed me back, which is fine with me because it's an error in my favor. I'm not going to call because of horror stories like yours where you have to wait 4 hours. So, if it's an issue in your favor, just email them and forget about it, it's in their hands.

Now, if it's an issue that is hurting you, unfortunately there's really nothing you can do but keep calling. Try early in the morning as soon as they open, that seems to be working for some people. Good luck, I've read that NC DES is the worst state for getting UI.
