Nearly a 3rd of Canadians still plan on gathering for the holidays

Thats what is shitty. The guilt trips.

My dads wife is super paranoid about covid...more than a healthy paranoia. For example, we live in London and its nowhere near as bad as Toronto. But my sister in law lives downtown TO. Doesnt leave her apartment except for groceries.

Dads wife was cool until Toronto went red, now she's not coming for Christmas dinner. Thats fair, we can't judge anyone in this weird time.

But when we tried to talk to her about solutions to them coming, she wouldn't listen. What if sister in law got a negative test before coming? Nope.

What if she isolates for 2 weeks before coming? Nope.

Its extremely frustrating and actually stupid of her but its caused drama on that side because my Dad is pissed and is beating her down to come.

Now they say they'll come but we've said no lol. Because I don't want to have to debate someone on why its ok to come. Just this whole thing has caused ridiculous stupid scenarios.

Its one year. One Christmas. Hopefully by spring both he and his wife will be vaccinated and fine and we can move on.

I just hate her being so tunnel vision to make us feel like we're wrecklessly endangering everyone....despite saying we'll all isolate for 2 weeks before contact haha.

Rant over. Merry Christmas everyone.
