Nearly half of people aged 18-34 are entering their 30s in Japan without any sexual experience, leaving the country facing a steep population decline

Purely for comparison of life choices, I'm the same age and have four kids with my husband. I've spent my twenties at home raising our kids with the trade off being a career, loss of second income and no retirement savings.

We are off on a beautiful island getaway in a few weeks, just the two of us. Our last vacation was two years ago. We don't have the ability to go on vacation often (available time/funds) and it involves some serious planning to ensure our kids will be looked after.

On the upside, I'm studying from home now and will be leaping into my career of choice by the end of next year. I don't need to take time off work to have babies and fall behind. When I am earning an income we won't need it as we are already living on the one wage which pays our bills and mortgage. It will go straight into a savings account and some for investments. I'll also set aside a fair amount for retirement savings to try and catch up a little on what I have missed out on. When I'm 40 I'll be able to travel the world with my husband as our kids will be old enough to look after themselves (most of them). We won't have to worry so much about the cost of hotels, flights, activities and food because we will be earning better money than in our twenties too.

Obviously not everyone meets their partner in their late teens so having kids early isn't always an option, I'm not advocating that anyone should do what we've done. I just find it so interesting reading about other people's lives and experiences. There are so many choices available to everyone now. There is no 'right' way to live a life. Your life sounds really cool and exciting, the Bahamas are on my list for after I turn 40 haha
