Need Advice! Applying for a teaching job without a classical degree at a university

I think you need to explain the position more. I am surprised that a community college would be hiring a position to teach religious studies exclusively.

I am going to be brutally honest here. Assuming this is a typical US college, without a PhD or at least an MA, your chances are next to impossible. They will have posted minimum qualification criteria. If you don't meet them, you will not get an interview. This is because they protect themselves from allegations of hiring bias by leveraging written qualifications matching the hired candidate. If two candidates meeting the qualifications apply, they will document objective evidence why the hired candidate was more qualified.

For that matter, how to teach is usually a component of graduate level education. Do you have experience teaching that can be substantiated?
