'We need them desperately': US police departments struggle with critical staffing shortages

It’s amazing to me.

Tried to apply to a city department in a state where smoking marijuana is totally legal. Used to vape twice a week at night in small amounts to help with insomnia and general day to day stress and of course never vaped during the day, at work or while driving.

Tried to apply and was turned down instantly for said occasional use one deeper questions and interview practices came to the forefront. Then I see news like this constantly and wonder “Are you really that hell bent on not allowing people to apply that qualify over a simple plant?”

Decided to just stick to my IT career and put to rest the dream I had of performing some civil service in my life where the PD’s need actual people with decent morals and upstanding attitudes in their community. Will never fail to amuse me.
