I need Elon Musk (or someone) to read this idea I’ve had to solve all the battery problems:

I think the missing ingredient is the universal aspect as to why this company went bust and why Tesla abandoned the idea. Dozens to hundreds of batteries would be more feasible if they were all the same. I’d say the best (ideal) thing would be if current petrol fuel producers were to get into battery manufacturing. They already own most of the filling stations so it’d be a matter of converting what already exists. The economics would then be free market stuff. You pay your subscription to Texaco because they’re cheaper than Esso, but then Shell have more stations in your state so it’s maybe wiser to get your subscription from them. That sort of thing.

And no I’ve obviously not run any numbers, I wouldn’t be posting on reddit if I was the kind of guy who ran numbers.
