Need help cutting several days from my 4 month European itinerary.

This last summer I took a trip to Europe and spent two weeks there. We visited Frankfurt Germany, Paris France, Venice Italy, Brussels Belgium, Munich Germany, Luxembourg, Salzburg Austria, Amsterdam Netherlands, and Geneva Switzerland. I’m American and I’ll lend you my perspective on the various locations I ventured.

In Munich we visited a “beer garden” and seeing as how y’all enjoy beer this would be a cool place to go. The beer and food here was great but we got stung by tons of bees.

In Paris we went to notre dame and the Eiffel Tower. While the food was amazing and we all got very drunk off some delicious wine this probably had some of the coolest architecture seen throughout the trip. Also some of the rudest people seen throughout the trip, no offense to the French.

Venice was by far the most enjoyable destination. It was the most exotic place I have ever been and I don’t know if it was because we were in Italy but the food here was better then any other place we visited. Now I don’t know about other places but it seemed that all Venice had to offer was great food cool architecture and shopping. Literally almost ever building is a tourist shop of some sorts and we ventured pretty deep into the city. So you could probably keep this one short unless you like looking at stuff and emptying your wallet. The people we met in Italy were very welcoming though. We were very comfortable.

Brussels was a very dense place, but the breakfast food is to die for. It wasn’t the cleanest place we visited but the people were cool, we saw some cool architecture and had some good Belgium mussels, waffles, and chocolate.

Austria and Switzerland were wonderful. The alps are breathtaking and seeing as how you guys enjoy hiking these countries are most definitely a must. I’m not sure if it’s just Geneva but if you can find a Swedish fondue joint, go there.

We drove through Luxembourg in about 45 minutes. There’s not much here that you won’t find in its neighboring country sides. Don’t mean to offend anyone that’s just my perspective. You probably wouldn’t need to stay a single day here. You won’t miss anything if you just drive through it lol.

I saved our worst experience for last and that was Amsterdam. Sure we got blazed off that good ole legal ganja but it’s crowded with bikes. If you go around the red lights district a few hours before the sun goes down you’ll find groups of middle aged men waiting around. It’s a little creepy. The Dutch food found here was probably the least liked throughout the trip. We walked out of a restaurant here because the people were so rude. Don’t think they liked Americans or tourists in general and other then France we probably felt the most unsafe here. It’s definitely a place y’all should try out and see for yourself but I’m probably never going back.

Anyway, us being American we were met with a lot of dirty looks mainly in Germany, France, and Amsterdam. But it was a great experience and I would love to go back.
