Need help in deciding whether leaving a low cost of living city for a salary bump is worth it

You are right to an extent - I grew up near in a major metro area and when to school in downtown Chicago and I'm not a huge fan of living in the middle of big cities.

Currently, I live in Jacksonville, FL so, while its definitely no NYC, it somewhat appeals more to my interests. I live in a 2 bedroom, nice new construction apartment with great amenities right on the beach (about $1600/mo rent total) and I'm just a short walk away from the beach bars, and a short drive away from downtown Jax, I have season tix to Jaguars for dirt cheap (even tho im not a Jags fan) and I have Orlando a couple hr drive away and Miami a $50 flight away. I'm a big fan of the weather, the more laid back culture and all the outdoor stuff to do. May not be for everyone but I really enjoy what I can do in the area.

Ultimately, I have decided to stay. Maybe if it was non-lockdown, I would have gone to NYC but it just seems like a waste now. Plus, the 0 state income tax is nice as well :)
