I need help explaining feminism to a friend.

Next time, ask him why men are more likely to die by suicide? The answer we feminists usually agree on is that men are so afraid of being perceived as “unmanly” that they aren’t willing to open up about their emotions when they’re experiencing suicidal thoughts. Men would literally rather kill themselves than be emotionally vulnerable.

Yep but that has more to do with society and the way men are treated since birth... people don't teach men to identify their feelings and how to deal with them. Also men rarely go to the doctors so it's harder to get a diagnosis.

I understand what you are saying but I don't agree that it's the men's fault that he deal with feelings the way he was taught since birth. Society has to change and simply saying "don't be afraid to be unmanly lol" isn't going to resolve the suicides rates.
