Need help for a moderate disorder (binge eating)

This is probably not what you want to hear, but from my own observation and talking to many, MANY other people with addictive personality like yourself (and me), there's no cure. You just have to continue fighting it. But here are some things that helped, and continue to help me (can't say if this will work for you tho):

  1. I forgot about diet regimes. From my observations, if psychologically I know that tomorrow, or next week I won't be able to eat something, I ultimately overeat to compensate for that. If I know that will have a chance to whatever I want tomorrow, I kind of lose interest to a certain extent, but that has to go alongside other points below.

  2. I used my addictive personality to get addicted to working out. I work out 7 times a week, can't go through the day without it. It takes a while to get into, but once you're there and you have endorphins flowing after a really good workout, you'll crave for more. After a while, I don't even get as hungry after a really heavy workout, too. At first, rewarding myself with food while I'm getting into the regular workout regime works better than dieting and working out both at the same time. Willpower is a brain resource, and you can exhaust it on too many things, so pick wisely.

  3. I give myself goals outside of the working out and dieting. No new year's resolution to lose weight or gain muscle. Working out and eating should be something that you don't pay much attention to. I'm working on my passion goals, I'm working on my small business ventures, I love to read a lot and everything in between. Taking the focus AWAY from food is better in the long run. When you focus on "not eating," you're still concerned about this, and you simply want to do something that you're not allowed to do. Just drop that idea completely that food is bad for you and retrain to focus on something else, basically stay busy.

  4. Weed. This might not be for everyone, but you can try certain sativa hybrid strands that won't give you munchies and in fact will keep you away from food, that's how it is for me. But I have balance it because regular smoking isn't good for everything else. So this one is kind of a game, you have to find your sweet spot. Once I discovered this, I unintentionally lost around 25 pounds.

Pro tip (this will sound silly, but hey, it works for me so maybe it'll work for you too): if you're a guy, bulk up first and become superficial about the way you look. Start caring about how your body shape to high extent. Look in that mirror, observe your muscles, and whatnot; enjoy it and love yourself, literally. Workout without sleeves, look at yourself in the mirror. We have have egos, and we all love that. So watch how you grow, observe your progress, have a blast. Once you start seeing that growth, that will be a great motivator to continue not only with working out but eventually getting your diet in order. Yes, it's silly and shallow looking from the side, but who cares - it makes me happy, which is the main point.
