In need of some friends

I’m a non-social stay at home dad who went through the same thing. Ended up going to baby-age storytimes at various area libraries. I hated it the first couple times until I started make my small talk (which I usually hate.) I eventually suggested going to a nearby park to someone I talked with a couple of times. Ended up meeting a group of 6 families or so through playgroup get togethers through this mom. I had to suggest a play date to several people before I found someone who was receptive to the idea. A lot of people were nannies or parents who work full time but happened to have the same day off every week and didn’t have much flexibility in their schedules.

Here are the ways I’ve met people with kids:

gym for baby/youth classes, intro to swimming, mommy & me yoga, ymca offers childcare while you work out in my area for $2

Ask your hospital/ob/pediatrician if they have or know of any postpartum/new parent support groups.
