i need some input on the state of my e30

when your replacing the oil pan your technically supposed to drop the subframe. that doesn’t mean it’s the only way you can do it tho. i just had to replace mine back in august and i loosened all the motor mounts so the nuts were on just enough that the mounts didn’t pop out of where they’re seated. then you can jack up the whole engine by the ac compressor bracket. this should give you enough space to snake out the oil pan but you are probably going to have to drop the oil pump into the pan and take it out with the pan. it’s only like 3 bolts to get the oil pump out so it’s no big deal. the most obnoxious part of doing it this way is trying to get the oil pan back into place while getting the oil pump to line up. it’s a huge pain in the ass buts it’s do able. and when your putting the gasket on make sure to use a line of gasket sealant on both sides.

if you have any questions about replacing your oil pan this way feel free to message me :)
