[NeedAdvice] I’m failing school and I can’t make myself do the work

I've failed a semester. I have ADHD, and this means my brain just works differently, and that's why I couldn't go without medication and therapy.

Go see a psychiatrist and get evaluation. Also get a full blood test, specially for thyroid hormones. This also could be an issue for you.

You'll need help, so make sure your family and your school knows about what's going on, if you haven't done it yet. You can also call your local suicide hotline, since you are feeling so unwell and your brain is endangering your life.

You need to care for yourself before over worrying or it'll just get worse. Hope you understand that your life and wellbeing comes first before grades.

And I now people who failed several years in school. And they are doing just fine. Some changed and finished all their studies later. Some preferred to skip getting a degree and just got around life with working experience.

They're just examples of that's fine to be different or to do things differently and have it hard for some things.

Your doctor decides what shod be done to take care of your mental health. They might feel it's better to take time off to chill to get well mentally. If it's the best, it's alright. The world doesn't spin around studies.

I struggled too and felt like I needed a few months off school to get treatment, since I also have anxiety and depression.

But might be different for you. Just know ending your life isn't a solution.
