Ok I'm completely lost here...... you seem very upset that I would look for evidence of a crime during the time I am permitted to have you detained.
This is literally the definition of proactive policing. This is actively encouraged by every police department I have worked for or interacted with.
This is observing your rights and the constitution, and operating within those to do my job, find evidence of a crime (such as illegal guns or drugs in plain view, etc)
I understand if you don't agree with proactive policing, but how is that sentence you quoted "among the worst examples of police"?
I could think of way worse examples, especially considering what I described involves no stated bias or intent to deprive you of rights.
