Neil deGrasse Tyson To Be Investigated By Fox, Nat Geo & Producers After New Sexual Misconduct Allegations

I’m not commenting on the rape allegation because I don’t know the details, but surely this is a bit similar to the Aziz Ansari accusation, yea? Famous dude awkwardly flirts with woman, makes things uncomfortable, nothing of any substance happens. The difference is the women are work colleagues in social situations. That’s a bit of an overreach for me. Surely it’s creepy but nothing really happened and it didn’t take place in a work setting. Are they making the case that their careers were negatively impacted by his awkward advances? If not, then what are we even talking about? People in real life make things awkward sometimes because we’re human. Let’s save the outrage for actual crimes and abuses of power in the workplace. A quote in one of the linked articles in this piece states that one of the women thinks he “could be someone who takes advantage of his fame and power”...I get the media is building a case here but all of this frivolous finger-pointing and character speculation is undermining the core of this movement. Focus on the real issues first because if everything is outrageous then nothing is.
