Neil deGrasse Tyson says it might be 'too late' to recover from climate change: "The day two politicians are arguing about whether science is true, it means nothing gets done. Nothing."

...nothing is stopping any of these wealthy people from doing something about it...

If you really think people in power with College educations actually believe we're not causing climate change you'd be wrong.

The problem is the various companies and leaders at the forefront of renewable energy all have massive ties to the democratic party. As a result everybody in the left attempts to support them. Most of the people on the right cannot support them because doing so would require them taking money away from their alliances and giving it to their opposition.

It's kind of a shit situation that results from corporate and political interests being tied together. For example, I'm pretty sure tomorrow Republicans would vote for renewable energy if it came with a stipulation that no renewable energy company or higher ups in those companies ever made a campaign contribution to anybody in perpetuity.

But not Democrat would vote for that either because it's not about greater good for them either but power. Take power from your opponents, get power for your friends.

Absolutely nothing is stopping every billionaire in the world who speaks about climate change from funding the research to correct it.
