Netflix: Use Internet Explorer 11, Edge or Win10 Netflix App for 1080p and 5.1 channel sound. Apparently Chrome and Firefox Netflix limits you to only 720p and poorer sound (PSA from PCMasterRace)

Routing all your traffic through a US server -- especially if you're not in the US -- creates latency for all traffic, especially traffic that does not terminate in the US. So your solution is not ideal for people outside the US who are not accessing US content. It basically nullifies all the good work providers have put into setting up local CDNs. So your point is invalid.

Depends on your provider. I just pinged one of the Hong Kong servers at 167ms.

Not everyone wants to buy a more expensive modem just so they can watch Netflix. Most will just use their ISP-provided one, which is free. So again, your point is invalid.

You don't have to, just use your OS's native VPN support or install the free software from your provider.

Lastly, and here's the kicker, a VPN only works for one country. Many DNS unblocking services allow you to switch region at will. I can be watching US Netflix for one show, then instantly switch region to UK Netflix to see local shows. I can then watch something on BBC iPlayer, and after that switch to Australia and watch their local TV shows. You can't do that on a comparably priced VPN service. So, once again, your point is invalid.

All of what you said is incorrect.

So let me summarise. In comparison to a VPN, by using a DNS unblocker you: Don't slow down all local and most international traffic

You don't with a VPN

Pay just little (or even less) than a VPN service, and you can use your existing router

Less than $2/month?

You can switch region at any time

You can switch at will to hundreds of servers across the world. Literally... with like 2 mouse clicks.

In summary, your point as it pertains to this discussion is invalid.

Are you 12?
