The NETFLIX Problem - A great explanation for those still on the fence about exclusives

I'm gaiming for over 20 years now, mostly on PC. Back in the 90s I didn't think about exclusives and just enjoyed games. PC games back then were IMO the best industry has to offer.

On one hand I agree that exclusives are bad and all the game should be available on every platform. EGS/STEAM situation is no brainier for any gamer. It would be ok if epic started to finance whole game projects. On the other hand all the greatest games I played for the past 2-3 years were console exclusives with few multiplatform games on the list too. To be honest if it wasn't for exclusives I would probably step away from gaming as a hobby by now given the quality and monetisation models of modern games. I find both insulting tbh.

In movies world huge companies outside of Netflix are creating all kinds of high quality blockbusters while 'first party' platform owners focus on cheaper experiences. It's different than in world of gaming.
