Netflix Saves Our Kids From Up To 400 Hours of Commercials a Year

With only the amount of experience of having a single 2 year old brings me, I can say it does add up over the course of a day. My son will play quietly and enthusiastically with his toys or outside for 1-1.5 hours, but then either gets too worked up or too bored, so I reward him with a cartoon episode to refocus him and kind of hit the 'reset' button on his mind. Also the cartoons offer him a lot of opportunity to practice his vocabulary, identifying the different things he sees. Even though he only sees 1 episode at a time, he might see 2-3 in the morning and 2-3 in the afternoon. Added up that's nearly 3 hours of TV a day, which sounds like a lot if you're thinking of somebody zoning out for 3 hours straight doing nothing, but in reality it's not that big of a part of the day
