iCF 5x5 year 1 Madcow for 6 months year 2, then texas method 6 months Jonnie candito linear year 2 6 months, then his more advanced program after for 6 more Year 3 i figured out what my body liked and made a hybrid, which i responded very well to and had very good gains. I was training almost exclusively for strength in the first 4-5 years with a minor focus on volume after. I rarely went above 5 reps. For late year 3- year 4 i did a strength only program for a while and made insane strength gains. Managed a 135kg bench at 67kg, 170kg squat and 175kg dead(my deads are bad) with a 135kg front squat. I intentionally ate maintenance for this year to max my strength at my weight.
I got burnt out and bored of strength training at this point. My nervousness feelings before every workout, gruelling sessions and body slowly feeling beat. I came close to my limit at that weight, but in exchange lost all interest in training like that anymore.
So i started training for size again, with all i learned before. I carried on with progressive overload and added a surplus to gain. Obviously there was a transition phase where i lost strength slowly over the course of a year as i was not interested in lofting heavy any more. I did not lose muscle. I gained some on parts i previously ignored. Then pandemic came. Lost gains for 6 months. Gained them back 6 months later. This takes us to Jan 2021.
Did 2 bull cut cycles last year and pretty much gained nothing. Maybe half a kilogram. Probably not. Gaining strength over time on my program however.
