Never stop building the art collection. La Villita Park Is A Summer Paradise byJacob Polhill, Oil, 2020

I’m not saying you’re wrong—just that it’s an inappropriate statement to make while you’re complimenting someone.

People should be open to discussing their preferences, but make that a different conversation.

If I’m showing you a piece of art or something that I put together that I’m proud of, switching the conversation to you and your preferences is selfish and inappropriate.

Save it for another discussion.

Again, OP didn’t need to know what that commenter’s preference is. If that guy wanted to add to the conversation, then he could have said what he specifically liked about the art or what it brought to the room. Therein, the conversation remains on OP and his post and his art and his home.

This is becoming too drawn out. It seriously isn’t even that big of a deal. What that commenter does with his account is his choice and he really doesn’t need someone like me telling him what to do and what to say like I’m his parent.

I just thought it was an odd thing to say and I see it happen very often on reddit.
