I never thought of this before; if he women witnessed the resurrection first, why do we only get to read about the event second hand?

It is believed (though the records have long since been destroyed) that one of my ancestors, John Rogers, finished translating the Bible from Hebrew to English after his partner in crime, William Tyndale, was murdered because of their work.

Nobody in a position of authority really cared about what Jesus would have done. They used religion to oppress the people.

John Rogers was burned at the stake for heresy. His grandchildren escaped to the new world on the Mayflower to escape further religious persecution.

But people still believe “thou shalt not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain” means saying “God dammit”. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I learned that commandment means don’t do shitting things in the name of God.
