Never thought it would but it happened.

Its a problem that has been around for years... at times its a simple fix like plugging in to the back io instead of the front, but... MS reply? usually avoidance and failure to fix it.

There are a crapload of settings that can affect performance, on top of not being able to update drivers for some ungodly reason.

Then you get in to the black magic woodoo sorcery stuff where a drive works great in one usb slot, but when you try to plug it in to another it does not. Or my favorite, One of my drives will only work at proper speeds when i add a USB-c adapter to the regular USB cable and plug it in to that port.

Also, larger usb backup drive? accidentally plug it in to the wrong USB port, or want to take it to another computer? Yeeessss... I'm still in the process of doing file recovery on like 2 TB of data. Mostly photos and documents, but losing file structures and having to sort out stuff manually after doing recovery scans is not fun.(Seagate drive specific experience)
