You make good points, but at the end; please do not confuse solid pr, marketing & sales with solid product quality. With proper marketing and sales people you can sell complete crap and it has been and is done many times. Maybe Discord did better at that vs Teamspeak? To me is seems it did as I use Discord and I never heard of Teamspeak? If Discord was built in QT and Teamspeak with Electron, there would be no difference in marketshare compared to now because it has nothing to do with tech. Nor has Slack for that matter; Slack has aggressive enterprise sales and was pushed hard by startups; solid marketing, pr and sales. They would be even more popular if they would have a great client, but why would they, this works and it is not going to win them significantly more. Probably the crypto exodus from Slack to Telegram and Discord could have been prevented, but again, not very relevant for Slack as a company paying user wise.
