Also I do not accept that empathy is

the ability to feel what others are feeling, but to feel what others are feeling and share those feelings as well.

Empathy's full definition includes sharing said feelings, or at least understanding.

But I will disagree with any idea that having said ability would lead people to make 'Good' decisions.

Someone brought up Antipathy. But that word introduces intent. which empathy has none. Antipathy is synonymous with hostility, but empathy is not synonymous with kindness or compassion, just Understanding.

One way you can see empathy and apathy, is understanding and ignorance. willing or unwilling. Which is why the saying goes, never assume malice where ignorance is likely to blame. I am paraphrasing.
