As a new American cricket fan, can someone explain the situation of USA cricket?

iirc ICC had suspended the USA Cricket Organisation for mismanagement of funds and elections.Basically the ICC aren't interested in expanding the game outside the cozy number of 10 countries which play in the upcoming WC.

USA has a national team but its good for nothing since they haven't played a single international game.Canada though had participated in the 2011 WC.

Regarding the state of cricket, India and West Indies had played 2 T20s in Florida last year which was the first ever international game.Other than that there was a 3 match series of legendary retired players which was hugely popular with fullhouse stadiums every game.

In short USA has proven to have a great interest in cricket due to the large South Asian population and has the potential to become a cricketing nation. But the ICC is narrow minded and wouldn't want to risk revenue for expansion in the US or any other country in general. If cricket becomes an Olympic sport perhaps cricket in USA/China will receive huge support from the government and wouldn't be dependent on ICC crooks
